​Senior-Level IT Support Engineer

Connecting Solutions of Vermont, Inc. is seeking a motivated, energetic and well qualified Senior-Level IT Support Engineer to work full time, who is personable, detail orientated and can handle a large variety of IT tasks. Working independently as well as working as a member of a team are essential. We serve a diverse group of clients in the small & medium sized business community, offering a wide variety of technology services and products. This position will require travel to clients primarily throughout the Montpelier & Burlington corridor, work at our office in Waterbury, and occasionally from home.  Independence, motivation to learn, spirited enthusiasm and attention to detail, are all required for this position. 

Starting salary $75,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience.

Specific requirements:

  • Senior-level IT Engineer with up to date knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and organizational skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in working with the following:
    • Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and Active Directory
    • Windows 7 - 10
    • Exchange Server
    • Hyper-V and VMware virtual systems
    • Firewalls (SonicWall preferred)
    • Wired and wireless network topology
    • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with IT Security
  • Reliable transportation
  • Bachelor's Degree desired

Other skills/experience (a plus):

  • MAC experience
  • Project management skills
  • Recent Microsoft and/or other certifications

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement, maintain and troubleshoot server/desktop/network systems and peripherals
  • Design and implement on-premise and cloud-based technology solutions
  • Work with firewalls, routers, and VPN/remote access solutions
  • Clean up computers with viruses and malware, install updates
  • Provide on-site and remote support
  • Takes ownership of support tickets and resolve issues either remotely or on-site in a timely manner
  • Thoroughly document all work in our ticketing system
  • Maintain technical knowledge of current technologies
  • On-call and occasional extended hours are required to support clients with maintenance and urgent issues outside of normal business hours
